"No, I'm Katie Mommy"
Lizzie has spent most of today pretending to be Katie (what I like to call her imaginary personality). What is most shocking to me (aside from the fact that my two year old pretends to be someone else) is her ability to be so darn consistent with it.
Everytime I ask her to do something, I either have to address her as Katie or if I forget and call her Lizzie than she'll correct me EVERYTIME. It is unreal. It kind of cracks me up and creeps me out at the same time. She is pretending to be Katie while playing with her imaginary friends Hayno and Seeya. :)
We were even working on "how big is Julia" at dinner and we usually go around the table and all of us get to put our hands over our head. Then Lizzie sings "how big is Katie, sooooo big."
Andy and I just looked at eachother and laughed. It was so bizarre.
I know I've mentioned this before but one of my good friends says this is great for creativity . . . you better be right!!!

that seems really intense. I have some horror stories that I wont go into. I just think that it's pretty strange... sometimes kids develope multiple personalities to deal with problems they are not supposed to have to deal with.. something to think about but not a hard rule... I know some grown people who have mutliple personalities and though tough, they are allot of times people I connect with better...

I guess maybe you have to know me better to know that my entry was mostly in fun and very sarcastic. We have no real concerns about our daughter's mental state and just truly think she has a great imagination. It was probably overstating it to use the word creepy, it just continues to surprise me the things that she comes up with.

Thats my Lizzie! I have had so much fun seeing her creative imagination develop over the last couple of years. I love the names of her immaginary friends too, reminds me of when my brother was her age and had a friend named Head Joe
My boss's son has decided his name is now Hotwheels, and he gets mad when his mom forgets his new name. He also can't understand why he has to use his "old" name at day care. He really thinks you can just change your name whenever you want. Kids crack me up!

I don't know if I told you this, but when we were little, Emily had a whole world of immaginary friends. The main one was Sunny Calvermint. In this land they all spoke a language called Shamadin (which sounded like nonsense, if you ask me). There even was one called Saddam Hussein, but she always followed it with "not the bad one".
One day she told me that they had all been hit by a car, every last one of them. I guess that was her way of quitting it all in one shot.
As much as I made fun of her and Sunny, I was sad to see him go. We love you Sunny Calvermint!

Head Joe, Sunny Calvermint, Saddam Hussein, man- Hayno and Seeya aren't looking so strange anymore. LOL

You know Jennifer, you've gotten a lot of light-hearted responses to Brian's comment, but I just gotta come out & say that it was rude for a complete stranger to suggest that your toddler has a severe mental disorder resulting from extreme stress at home. I just don't think you go around making those comments unless you know the situation--and I think this blog alone provides enough insight into your personal life that even a stranger should assume it's a well-adjusted, normal family.
