Plié and Jump, Plié and Jump

Demi plié, grand plié, en dedan . . . this is the reason that I can barely walk today!

So for my readers who are checking on how my first experience at publically humiliating myself went, this post is for you!
Going into this ballet class I was thinking about how fun it would be and even, dare I say, slightly confident that I would catch on fairly quickly- boy was I wrong.
These are the things I learned and realized last night:
1. I really am not very graceful
2. Being tall and lean is not an advantage, in fact you look more awkward and goofy
3. I don't have very good balance
4. The shoes didn't automatically make me a ballerina
5. I did learn some neat french words
6. I look a little bit like a misplaced athlete with skis on my feet
7. I will not be auditioning for Swan Lake next year- LOL

Of course we had a blast and laughed ourselves silly! It was quite humerous. Our teacher was so cute and I loved the way she moved and did everything. One fellow classmate described it perfectly, "when I watch her and I'm doing the same movements I actually think I might look like her, then I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and realize how wrong I am!"
