Disappointing

I had kind of a bummer of an evening last night, I guess in hindsight its not a huge crisis but discouraging just the same. I got some jewelry making supplies out last night that I had taken to the lake and found that some sterling silver cleaner had spilled all in my container of supplies I took. You are only supposed to submerge the silver in this cleaner for 10 seconds max (according to the directions) so when silver is exposed longer it turns black.

It ruined (or I guess I should say I ruined) 6 pairs of earrings, lots of silver wire I had just gotten, 2 pairs of hoops I use to wrap crystals around and other various supplies. It even ate the metal off my round nose pliers. This just flat out stinks! I try to be frugal and only buy supplies that I will use and now I've lost over $25 in supplies. I was tearing up as I was cleaning it off and throwing stuff away, but that doesn't mean much since I cry during the American Idol results show.
The bummer of it is, I was making a few pairs this week to sell so that I could take Andy out on his birthday (next Friday) using my own money and not the checking account. (that sounds so pitiful and trite, but it does suck!)

After I finished cleaning up I sat on the couch and thought, man I hope Greys Anatomy is at least good tonight. And it wasn't! What a downer in every way!!! I'm considering seriously giving up the soap opera type dramas, I get so irritated with the love triangles and general stupidity.
I might be giving up that show for sure next year, maybe I should take up reading. :)

Bummer!! I know how frustrating it is to get ready to do something and your material is damaged and unusable - not to mention the guilt over the money spent. Just remind yourself that overall that hobby has been profitable and accidents happen. Very few can claim a profitable hobby.

But yes, Grey's was a horrible disappointment. And we have to wait 3 months to see if they will redeem themselves. (You're not really going to give it up completely, are you?)

I am sorry to read about your losses. I pray you recovery fast and make even more. I am so sad about Melinda (AI) I could not believe it but she will be fine. Did you see the advert of Grey's spin off that is coming this fall? that is going to take place in that practice that Addison went to in the second last episode...wonder how that is going to go.

UGH! bummer! I hear you on the destruction of stuff. I've punctured 2 paintings this year. STUPID ME! If I could just plan and be more careful I would not be losing all that work! If it makes you feel better I have lots of beads I'm looking to get rid of. Of course, I'll have to find them in my huge masses of boxes.

And I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, but I'm a huge ER junky if I ever get to watch to the re-runs on TNT

Ah, thanks for commiserating with me guys! I still feel kind of silly complaining about it but then I look at my earrings that are black- OH MAN! Two punctured paintings Katie, wow that seems way worse. I can't imagine. I'd love any beads you are looking to get rid of, that would be great!
I loved the old ER too, back in the day.

Grace- here's my prediction for the new Private Practice show: it'll be very interesting and entertaining in the first season till they mess it up with complicated love triangles and affairs. And I was sad to see Melinda go but she'll probably have a much better career than anyone.
:)
