fabric
I ordered some fabric off the internet and it arrived today and I am so happy with the color! This fabric will be my new sling for the baby, sewn together by my friend Christy. She has made them out of seersucker before and that's what I wanted to buy but it's been tricky getting my hands on some. I found some online and the color I wanted went on clearance and I got some over the weekend for $1.95 a yd and its 100% cotton.
I was concerned that it would look more pink than red, but it looks more red in person with a muted undertone.
I ordered twice as much as Christy would need to make a sling and I'm not sure what to do with the rest. I thought about paying her to make up a second one and holding on to it to give to a friend who might have a girl. Hmmm, we'll see.
Just a little blurb for fabric.com, this was my first time ordering and I will definitely be back, it was fast and they have great sales and shipping incentives.
My only concern is due to the nature of seersucker its a bit bumpy and almost rough but hopefully with washing it will soften up.
Here's hoping this baby doesn't mind being strapped to me 24/7 cause that's the only way I think I'll make it. :)
