little conversations

There have been several funny little exchanges I've had with the girls lately or heard them having with each other and I wanted to get them down before I forgot them.

Lizzie and I have been having a challenging time lately, or I've been having a challenging time and she has only reflecting my poor attitude back to me. Yesterday she was micro managing me, reminding me what I had said at lunch and correcting me and what not and I sighed and said, "Lizzie, sometimes I don't know what to do with you." She looked up and said, "Oh, is this one of those times?"

Today I took a nap and woke up to spend some time with her watching Mary Poppins (its been a long day!) and we were both singing a song and she said, "Your voice and Mary Poppins voice sound the same mommy. Well, you kind of sound like her, um well just a little!" LOL This made me laugh so hard. She cracks me up! She also suggested that it would be a good idea for us to get a nanny so Daddy and I could get some rest. LOL I told her we wanted to do things with the girls and I would be sad if someone else got to play with them all day.

The other day I heard the girls trying to decide what to play and the conversation went something like this:
L: "Julia, do you want to play go fish?"
J: "No I want to do this!"
L: "Walk around in a circle?"
J: "YES! And get dizzzzyyyyyy!" (all while spinning)
L: "Julia, I need two people to play go fish!" (always so sensible)
J: "No, this is what we do. First you spin and then you get dizzzzyyyyy!"

How in the world did I end up with two dynamic girls? The little one certainly has her own ideas about things and it annoys Lizzie to no end that she won't be bossed around.

During easter week there was also a lot of resurrection discussion. Julia wanted to know where Jesus was now and I told her he was in heaven with God and Lizzie wisely piped in, "Jesus IS God." Julia yelled back, "No, Jesus is God's son!" This was an argument I heard several times over the past few weeks. I would mostly correct how they were arguing and ask them to be kind with their words but never knew exactly what to say. Julia told me today in the car that she didn't want to rise from the dead. It took me a while to realize what she was saying. I sort of just redirected her and talked about how Jesus rose from the dead and what a wonderful thing that was.
It has certainly been interesting this holiday!
They always keep us on our toes, as groggy as we are!

Lol, I know we only hung out for a weekend last summer, but I miss those girls of yours. Plus I still haven't seen Caroline! What's up with that? I guess I'll have to bring Dylan down sometime and visit. Hope you're getting sleep.
